Hand poured essential oil and plant wax candles with wooden wicks.(15cl)

Our 15cl hand poured, natural plant wax candles are very popular year round but especially so in the winter with their gently flickering light bringing comfort and a warm scent to your home.

We've blended pure quality essential oils into a 100% natural, ecologically sustainable plant wax base to give you a high quality, natural candle and a very clean burn. 

Each candle has a (FSC) wooden wick made from sustainable fruit wood trees by Lumetique (Pat. www.lumetique.com/patents). These wooden wicks give a slight crackle when they burn too, bringing the comforting sound of a real fire to your home. The glassware we choose is spcecifically for candles and has been tested to sustained high temperatures to ensure they are safe in use. Our candle jars are fully reuseable or recycleable after use. They are easily cleaned up with hot soapy water before reusing them as button jars, brush pots, or whatever you fancy

Nurture - Lavender, Frankinsence and Palmarosa essential oils

Rose Madder - Rose Geranium, Black pepper and Patchouli essential oils.

Our 15cl candles are all hand poured into candle safe amber glass ware with black urea lids.They are scented with 100% pure essential oils in a plant wax. The wooden wicks make a subtle crakle sound when burning. They are labelled with full candle safety instructions. and CLP labelling to conform with current EU regulations.

15cl size will burn for up to 30 hours and weigh approx 170g net.

Burning Guidelines - For the first burn, light the wooden wick well (a lighter works best to get a good burn) and allow the candle to develop a good wax pool ensuring the melted wax reaches to the sides of the glass and down to approx half a centimeter. This will ensure the candle continues to burn well in future burnings and will not tunnel. Sometimes they take a few lightings to get going properly, this is due to the wooden wicks not building up enough heat to melt the wax and draw it up the wick. They should however burn well once established. The flame will be lower than with a cotton wicked candle and will dance and flicker, this is expected with wooden wicks and is part of their beauty and character.  Once snuffed out and the wick is cool, break off any charred wood residue from the wick to ensure easy lighting and prevent any smoking on the next burn. 

 Safe use of our candles - 

• Never Leave A Burning Candle Unattended. Always put out candles when leaving a room or before going to sleep. You should also put out a candle if the candle smokes, repeatedly flickers or the flame isn’t controlled.
• Burn candles out of the reach of children and pets. Never place lit candles where they can be easily knocked over anyone, especially children and pets.
• Don’t burn candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Place candles on a heat resistant and non-flammable surface, at lease 30cm away from anything that can catch fire, including but not limited to curtains, decorations etc.
• Always leave at least 7cm between burning candles. Leave at least 7cm to be on safe. Candles placed too close together can drip or soot, and tealights can flare up.
• Do not place candles in a draught.Keep candles out of draughts to prevent rapid, uneven burning, sooting and excessive dripping. Also, lightweight curtains can waft into the flame if in a draught.
• Don’t place candles near a source of heat. The higher the temperature around a candle, the greater the risks. For example, tealights on a TV can flare up and melt through the plastic, and other types of candles might drip wax.
• Always use a candleholder. Candle holders should be heat resistant and non-flammable. They should also be stable and big enough to collect dripping wax
• Place candles in an upright position. Stand candles straight to avoid dripping and minimize the risk of flaring. Glass cups can crack if the flame touches the side. 
• Trim wick to about 1cm before lighting.Trim the wick, removing any charred material with scissors or a wick trimmer before lighting the candle. If the wick is too long, a lump of carbon might form on it as it burns (known as clubbing) or the flame might become too high and start to soot.
• Keep the wax pool clear of matches and other debris to avoid flaring. Flammable objects in the wax pool, such as matches, insects, flammable decorations or lumps from the wick, can ignite and cause the candle to overheat and flare up.
• Do not move a burning candle. Moving a candle can have the same effect as placing it in a draught (i.e. sooting and dripping). If a tealight is moving when all the wax is molten, the wick might change position and cause the candle to flare up.
• Always snuff out the flame. Do not blow it out. For safety’s sake, use a candle snuffer when putting out a candle. It’s especially important not to blow down at a candle in a container, such as a tealight, as this increases the risk of flaring and hot wax could spatter up in your face.
• Do not allow the candle to burn out completely. Put out candles when they have burnt down to about 2cm from their holders. If a candle burns down completely it can cause burn marks or even start a fire, as a glass holder can crack and metal holders can be come extremely hot.
